More baseball update !

It was a pretty long day at the baseball field. Our first game was against a bunch of bullies from Riverton. Their team was the Cal Ripken state champs this year and they have been playing baseball together for three years. They beat us 26-0 and it wasn't that close. It could have been 100-0 (they really weren't bullies - they were really cool but really good). Sam played third the entire game and did pretty well. Their pitcher was awesome and Sam was the only player to get a hit. He had a solid hit down the third base line, then hit a hard ball to short (fielder's choice to second), then in the last inning with two outs he hit a rocket into left field and the left fielder dove and caught it or it would have been at least a triple.

Game 2 was against another Vegas team - we lost 12-8 - probably should have won that game. Sam played third for three innings and did well - he snagged a hard grounder to his left but threw a little wild to first. He then pitched the final three innings and only gave up three runs. He had three hits in this game also - two between short and third and one down the third base line. I think he ended up getting about 9 base hits in the tourney and only struck out one time.

After the game we went to Rusty's to celebrate Jenny's birthday. The Savage's went with us and then came up to the cabin to spend the night. We had a camp fire and the boys made smores. Have a great Sunday everyone !!!
